Community Partners in Action Program

The collaboration helps families and students get the important services they need while allowing teachers and school officials to concentrate on their most important duty - educating tomorrow's leaders.  In January 2007, representative from the U.S. Department of Education came to DTM Elementary School to congratulate students and staff on winning a prestigious national award.  DTM was the only school in Michigan chosen for the U.S. Secretary of Education's Back to School Initiative for being close to achieving the goals of the federal No Child Left Behind Act. 

 
MHP Programming provided at the DTM Family Resource Center:

Youth Programming:
Offered at DTM Teen Center (ages 13 -18) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm till 7pm on school days.

DTM Teen Center is a multipurpose center, which provides access to the various kinds of meaningful activities - mentoring relationships and supportive systems that foster positive development and healthy relationships.  The foundation of programming at DTM is based on supporting resiliency in youth and creating opportunities for them to have positive life-learning experiences.  All teens are held to a high level of expectations relative to behavior and respect for themselves and their community.

Durant-Tuuri-Mott After-School Program:
MHP goal is to build the capacity of after-school program providers so that they can deliver high quality services in a caring and supportive environment.  Holistic programs play an essential part in keeping young people safe and focused.

Adult Programming:
MHP has developed a model of service delivery, which allows parents and community residents to "shop" for the needs of the families under one roof or centralized location.     We want to ensure that families' needs are met through comprehensive services that lead them toward stability.
